Monster Girls of the Great Lakes March 14, 2017 14:02
So the first weekend of March I was honored to be invited to participate in an all female, all monster art show at the Good Goat Gallery in Lakewood, Ohio. The owner, Nancy, is a dream to work with and put together an amazing show. Head on over to the show page for more information on purchasing the monsters that I have contributed as well as some of the creepy and cool creations of my Monster maker friends!
New Directions (and no, this isn't a 'Glee' reference) May 28, 2016 17:06
Alright, so I've been dumping money into this website hosting for the past year and have done little to nothing with it. My utter failing. Over $200 down the drain.Trying to determine right now if this is still the best place to host my store. Is it worth it? What do you think?
In other news, I am majorly scaling back. The Main line of monsters will now be made by request only. I am doing this so that I will have more time to focus on gallery work, one of a kinds, and new and exciting ideas. I think this is truly the right direction for me. Working as a solo artist while working full time as a floral designer, as well as having a happy and fulfilling life for the first time in 8 years, means that I need to take a step back and focus on the work that means the most to me.
MadKnits has always been, and will always be, a hugely important part of my life. But I always knew that the level of production that I took on for the past 4 years was not the way for me. Alas! I gave into peer pressure! But working like that taught me a very important lesson about who I am and the type of work that I want to do. I want MadKnits to be special. I want to put the time and energy that I have into work that I truly love. Work that I can spend the time and effort thinking about that it needs and deserves.Sorry, rambling . . .
So while this means that I won't be producing anywhere near to the level that you had become accustomed to, it does mean that everything that you get from here on out will be in super limited editions and complete customs and one of a kinds! In fact, I will be curating my first ever Cleveland show this July!
The show is 100% monster-themed and will be a collaborative show including 3 amazing artists from the Cleveland area and 3-4 artists from my old stomping ground on the East Coast! Woo!! More details on that to come very soon . . .
